“Kash” is unique and very close to my heart: Sonam Bajwa

Manchester: Punjabi Film Guddiyan Patole is all set to release on 8th March in cinemas Worldwide. The film cast features the multitalented Gurnam Bhullar, Sonam Bajwa, Nirmal Rishi, Gurpret Bhangu, written by Jagdeep Sidhu and directed by Vijay Kumar.
Sonam Bajwa, who has played the lead female role “ Kash” in the Film was very excited about the film release, while speaking exclusively to Radio Sangam, Sonam Said,” I have worked in various films and have played several characters but Kash ( Kashmir Kaur) is very close to my heart”.
“ I am very bubbly in my real life and love to dance, this role Kash was very challenging but it had flavour of my life in it too, I really enjoyed the shoot, songs and dance. For the first time I have designed my costumes in the film and I was really surprised that every one acknowledged it.”
Referring to a question about the message in the film she said, “ Rishtey ( blood Relations) play important role in every ones life, the film shows why these rishteys are so important in every ones life and especially people living abroad as it’s the only way the are connected to their roots”.
Referring to a question about supporting Punjabi Cinema, She said, “ Punjabi films connects you to your motherland, story, screenplay and sets reflects real Punjab and we try to give a cultural message in our films so it is very important that we support Punjabi Cinema as a way forward for our youth to stay connected with their roots”.
The story of the Film Guddiyan Patole begins with two girls who were made to live separately in their childhood (because their parents wished to live their own lives separately), are bought together by destiny. The destiny which forced their maternal grandparent’s side to call their mother and them back to India. The same maternal side who broke all threads with their mother, when she fell in love with a foreigner and got married.
The young girls embark on a journey, the path of self-discovery. And how in their journey they discover their roots, culture and their true identity. At the same time discovering those relationships in Punjab. The journey, even helps them to make a young lad from Punjab find his own life’s goals. And how he while being a companion on the journey of these 2 girls self-discovery, finds himself.
